Barcelona are looking for a new center-back and could turn their attention to Juventus center-back Merih Demiral, who is also wanted by Premier League team Everton.
That is according to a recent report from Spanish outlet AS, claiming that the Turkish international could leave Turin this summer.
It was reported just a week ago that despite Carlo Ancelotti’s shock departure from Merseyside outfit Everton, Toffees could still pursue Demiral.
However, AS now reports that Everton have been joined by Barcelona in the hunt for the 23-year-old’s signature.
Although it is rumored that the Catalan side are in the market for a new center-back, they are not yet considered a ‘priority’.
However, Barcelona’s interest has been lifted by the fact that Demiral can play as a full-back on both sides and with the La Liga giants eager to give Jordi Alba a much-needed competition, and the Turkish defender can prove the ideal signing.
Demiral has been at Juventus since 2019 after one £ 16.2 million move from Sassuolo and has advanced to 31 senior matches in all competitions.
