DK Metcalf is participating in another non-football sporting event this summer.
After competing in the US 100m Olympics in May, Seattle Seahawks star-receiver was revealed to make another touch in niche athletics on Monday when MLB announced he would be on a list of the league’s Celebrity Softball games. The game takes place on July 11 at Coors Field as part of the All-Star Weekend festivities.
Metcalf did not play baseball in high school, though he did showcase his skills in 2019 when he threw the first pitch on a Mariners game. He is joined by plenty of retired MLB talent, though including CC Sabathia and Hunter Pence, though it is unknown whether these two will be his teammates or not. Other contestants include rapper Quavo, internet star JoJo Siwa and country artist Kane Brown.

Needless to say, it will be interesting to see how Metcalf’s football skills translate into the softball diamond. He could certainly be an effective squeeze runner, and it would not be shocking to see him send a moon shot into the left field (especially given Coors Fields high altitude). Just do not trust that he tracks every flying ball.
