Donovan Mitchell continued his Game 1 masterpiece with a 37-point performance Thursday night in Salt Lake City to lead the Utah Jazz to a 117-111 victory and a 2-0 lead over the Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference semifinals.
Mitchell scored 27 first-half points, helping Utah establish momentum early on, and then fired in a last-gasp shot to help the Jazz win their sixth consecutive game in the post-season.
Jordan Clarkson added 24 jazz points. Clarkson Sixth man of the year, and Mitchell scored six three-pointers as Utah tied the franchise playoff record with 20 from over the arc in a stunning 51.3 percent shot.

Joe Ingles started in place of injured All-Star goalkeeper Mike Conley, who missed his second game in a row with a right hamstring injury. Engels scored 19 points with four three throws, while his colleague Bojan Bogdanovic added 16 points with three throws.
Jazz Center Rudy Joubert received his 3rd NBA Defensive Player of the Year Before the match, he then explained why he won with another strong showing in defence. Joubert finished with 13 points, 20 rebounds, three blocking shots and two steals.

Reggie Jackson ignited the Jazz for 29 points and Paul George scored 27, but the Clippers didn’t have enough left in the tank after recovering from a second-half 21-point deficit to temporarily take the lead in the fourth quarter.
Kawhi Leonard added 21 points to the Clippers, who found themselves 2-0 down from their second straight series. But this time, Los Angeles is going home to play Game 3, which takes place Saturday night at Staples Center.
The third quarter was quite a roller coaster. The Jazz exploded into their biggest lead at 76-55 only to see the margin slip to four points later in the quarter as Jackson and George warmed up. Use the gorge’s zone defense clippers to put out the hot jazz shooting.

Utah called a timeout and quickly regained the lead at 104-101 after Engels fired a shot that hit the top of the backboard and slammed into the net, followed by Bogdanovic with a three-pointer.
And Jazz expanded the difference to 113-103 with three minutes remaining after three points from three points for Joubert and three throws by Royce O’Neill and Engels.

Mitchell started where he left off in Game 1, hitting shot after shot to lead the Jazz to an early lead. He scored 14 points in the first quarter and then added 13 points in the second quarter, including a 31-foot-3 pointer that gave Utah a 13-point lead in the first half.
