Eddie Guerrero’s daughter Shaul admits she was scared of him

Eddie Guerrero died far too early on November 13, 2005. He was a complicated man who loved his family, but Eddie was not perfect either. His memory will live on through those he inspired and his family. Shaul Guerrero remembers the time she spent with her father.

While talking to Chris Van Vliet, Shaul Guerrero admitted that there were times when she was afraid of her father. She was mesmerized by his character on TV, but had to say she felt scared around the man he was behind the scenes because she saw it all.

“My dad scared the shit out of me when I was growing up. It is no secret that he struggled with alcohol and drugs. I unfortunately think growing up until I was 12 or 13, that was pretty much all I saw. It was a complicated relationship with my father. I did not really get to know him until I was 13, 14, 15. He passed by when I was 15 years old. ”

She also talked about how much Eddie Guerrero loved the business, and even her last name encourages the organizers to push her to the best rankings. She needs to remind them that she has not fought in six years, but she is a Guerrero, so there are pretty high expectations.

“I do not know how he was Eddie Guerrero half the time. My dad loved this business so much he was constantly thinking about wrestling. No one can be him. It became overwhelming in good ways. I think when I announced my comeback, I got a lot of bites from the organizers, which was very humble. But they also wanted to place me in the very best positions that I was like ‘I have not fought in 6 years.’ It was overwhelming. When I first went into wrestling, I went into the largest and most prestigious company in the world. I’m very grateful for that, but it also comes with the greatest pressure. It was so intense, not to mention the Guerrero road, walking hard or walking home. High expectations are just in the family. I had panic attacks just by going to workouts. ”

Shaul Guerrero was also told by someone in the WWE that they did not want to give it to her Guerrero name in the company if she sucks. This pressure to be Eddie Guerrero’s daughter still clings to Shaul Guerrero years after his sad death.

She also announced in recent memory that all personal appearances were canceled, and she withdrew from the limelight. That’s much easier said than done, especially when your last name is Guerrero.
