The new contract will also see his release clause rise to € 400 million from € 80 million.

Thiago Alcantara has had a successful first season at the club, but Jurgen Klopp is in desperate need of reinforcements following their injury problems last season.
Philippe Coutinho has been linked with a return to the Reds in an almost free deal that will see the outstanding balance from the deal that Barcelona owe Liverpool forgiven. While it may not increase further player sales, it will definitely help Blaugranas discharge a player with huge earnings and relatively no place in the team.
As for Pedri, he has stated several times that his dream is to play at Barça. That combined with a new contract on the way already means Liverpool have no hope of signing whizkid.
