Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson spoke to the media Thursday and made it clear that things are good between him and the front office.
Everything out of season, nothing but drama and controversy has followed Seattle Seahawks and quarterback Russell Wilson. Trade rumors swirled everywhere, with several teams linked to Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks.
However, Wilson set the record just Thursday. In his first public comments to the media while in OTA, the signalman said he never demanded a trade out of Seattle and that he was ready to win with the Seahawks. Period.
Russell Wilson said he never asked the front office about trade this offseason
While of course good news for the Seahawks and their fans, Wilson acknowledged that the four teams that were leaked, with whom he would accept a trade, were correct. These teams were the Las Vegas Raiders, Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints.
Still, the standout quarterback reiterated that he could not be happier to be with the Seahawks and he will do everything in his power to help his side win another Super Bowl. It’s music to all ears in Emerald City, as it certainly looked like there was a strong possibility that Wilson could leave the city earlier in the low season.
Instead, he is back at the training facility in Renton along with the other playmakers in the squad. Come week 1, Seattle opens the new campaign with a showdown against the Indianapolis Colts. Wilson could make everyone forget the hectic last few months with a big showdown and victory on the road against the AFC South team.
When Wilson is at the top of his game, he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. It’s time for him to remind people of what’s coming in the 2021 campaign.
