The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCC) has shared a video on Twitter showing a group training session for the Indian team. India will play New Zealand in the inaugural final World Test Championship On June 18 in Hampshire Bowl, Southampton.
Many said New Zealand would have a slight advantage as they play England in a series of two games beforehand. However, the one-minute clip shared by BCCI shows that Indian players are also not far from preparations.
The video shows pretty much all the big names including Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant and more. They are ready to enter the groove for the final stage.
The Indian team is currently staying at the Hilton. Left arm Axar Patel revealed that the Covid 19 regulations are so strict that players were not allowed to meet each other for three days. However, that didn’t stop them from clicking beautiful Ageas Bowl photos.
The India-New Zealand match will be fantastic for sure. Two exceptional sides are equally in balance. It will be the New Zealand bowling attack against the star-studded Indian batting lineup.
However, in terms of the ICC events, New Zealand is the ghost team for India. They have not been able to defeat New Zealand at an ICC event since 2003. Consistent losses in the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2016 T20 World Cup and 2019 WC Semi-Finals.
