Special Olympics New Zealand athlete Sarah Dalton’s character Lily hugs her cousin Izzy, played by Tessa Rao, a star in the Power Rangers Dino Fury series.

The power of sports was in full screen in a special episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury with Special Olympics New Zealand athlete Sarah Dalton. Section 5 of 28th season premiered in the US on March 27, 2021 with Sarah as the guest star as a race coach for her cousin Izzy, the green Power Ranger, played by Tessa Rao.

In the episode, Lily Izzy learns a valuable life lesson about how “winning is not everything.” This is an old saying that many Special Olympics athletes believe in and demonstrate on and off the court. The episode also illustrates another popular saying, “life imitates art.”

Special Olympics caught up with Sarah and Tessa to learn about the real experiences they learned from each other while working together on sets.
