Will Eddie Hearn be as successful at DAZN as he was with Sky?

We ask the committee about Eddie Hearn’s big move from Sky to DAZN

Michael Conlan
super weight competitor

I think so, he might go and do better with a financial giant like DAZN behind him. His promotion and fight nights so far in the United States have been very impressive.

Paul Edwards
Former British Champion

Yeah. Sky Sports is the best, production and everything. But DAZN with the Matchroom team, they know what they’re doing. The price will probably go up from £1.99 a month, but I think it will work. Could be better.

Mickey Hillet
Boxing manager and promoter

It’s inevitable that Eddie would be less well known in the UK without the Rolling Sky PR. It will be pivotal for Eddie to find the money to keep Anthony Joshua In DAZN. If he could do that, he would undoubtedly go through a worrisome phase successfully. If AJ is lost its effect may wane very quickly.

Richard Boxon
Promoter and Manager

It’s really hard to say. DAZN has very deep pockets but can you make a channel here in the UK and keep it with mostly boxing and some outdoor football? Only time will prove it. The world of content and how it is presented is changing at an amazing speed.

Alex Steadman
Commentator and podcast

Leave this slave on a deserted island with nothing and he will be a millionaire in a week. So probably, yes. And I like a lot of DAZN chat.

Declan Taylor
boxing reporter

Depends on how you define success. He will undoubtedly give dozens of great shows and earn his fighters a huge amount of money in the process. But what will boxing on the app do to the sport and interest in it in the long run? The jury is out.
