Fans of the Chicago Cubs gave Justin Fields a fierce ovation when he visited Wrigley Field with his other Chicago Bears draft picks.
The city of Chicago cannot get enough of Justin Fields.
The new Bears quarterback appeared at the Cubs game against the Cardinals on Friday and received an ovation from fans.
Fields had a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch. It was the first 100 percent capacity of the stadium since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sixth-round running back pick Khalil Herbert and sixth-round cornerback pick Thomas Graham joined Fields at the ballpark.
Justin Fields revved Cubs fans at Wrigley Field
Fields witnessed an exciting game of back and forth action as the Cubs and Cardinals started their critical series. Joc Pederson met in the fourth to respond to two runs by St. Louis. Anthony Rizzo blew up another in the sixth to lock the game with five runs per game. Piece.
Chicago and Milwaukee are in a close battle at the top of NL Central, while the Cardinals are trying to claw their way into the conversation in third.
That Kids and the White Sox have been fighting for Fields ‘loyalty since he fell into the Bears’ lap in the draft. The White Sox created one custom sweater for him in an attempt to pull him in. The quarterback tried, however not to take sides by declaring himself a “White Cubs” fan.
Of course now White Sox fans will wonder when Fields takes a trip to the Guaranteed Rate Field. It’s going to have to wait since the team is in Detroit this weekend. They are back Monday for a series with the Rays. Another car ride follows, however. They do not play weekend games in Chicago until the end of June against the Mariners.
