Liverpool are among the first teams to make some moves in the transfer market. It was a rather forgetful year for the Reds, and Jurgen Klopp wants to ensure that the club starts on a strong footing this time.
The club has already seen Gini Wijnaldum’s departure as he wants to join PSG after the euro. Liverpool have also signed Ibrahim Konate RB Leipzig in an attempt to improve their defensive lineup.
However, the club is not finished yet. Konate’s move was just £ 36m and Liverpool want to make more additions to the squad. A striker remains on the agenda for the club as Firmino does not come out of his best season.
But then Liverpool had reportedly almost ended the deal on the tip and now Leicester City seems to have stepped in. There is a lot of confusion and it is difficult to find verifiable information.
Liverpool have good relations with Salzburg, which should help their cause. Leicester could, however, provide a better opportunity in terms of playing time as the club are looking for Jamie Vardy’s replacement.
Leicester City willing to fight Liverpool for Patson Daka?
Patson Daka has quickly become one of the most talked about players in this transfer window. The Zambian international has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs accredited for his outstanding performances this season.
Daka has been the first team player for Salzburg throughout the season. The player has 34 goals and 12 assists to his name in all competitions for the club. These are the kind of numbers you want from your number nine. The only question left is, can Daka also keep up with his Premier League stats?
According to a report from Mirror, Leicester are now officially over the player. Brendan Rodgers will sign him as a permanent replacement for Jamie Vardy. The market value of the player is close to £ 20 million.
It would definitely be a bargain for any club. Liverpool, on the one hand, offer Champions League glory and are also one of the best clubs in England. Leicester, on the other hand, are in the conversation, but not quite there yet.
There is also not much credibility to Leicester’s demands, as the club has Iheanacho alongside Jamie Vardy. But then Liverpool do it too, they have Diogo Jota along with Roberto Firmino. We can speculate on anything we want, but it would be difficult to reach a meaningful conclusion.
But if Daka were given the opportunity to get off the bench for Liverpool or Leicester, he would choose Liverpool because of how the club is positioned. Liverpool also seem to have the advantage because they have been scouting forward for quite some time now.
