Associated Press source: Celtics appointed Nets assistant Udoka as new coach

BOSTON (AFP) – The Boston Celtics have appointed Brooklyn Nets assistant im Yodoka as their new coach, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal was not announced.

The hiring was first reported by ESPN.

Odoka, 43, spent seven years with Greg Popovich’s staff at San Antonio, including the 2013-14 season, when Tottenham won the NBA title. He joined the Philadelphia 76ers in 2019 and was with the Nets last year.

Oduka replaces Brad Stevens, who walked off the bench and entered the front office when Danny Aing retired this month.
