I tested 9 shades of white, yellow, black and orange from Gone for about a month. BG 65 Titanium has been in use for quite some time.
Racket – Yonex 10 DJ, 3UG4
Tension – 29 lbs for both the 65 Ti and GT 9
Playing time – from 50 to 60 hours per month.
Here are my notes.
Repulsion – GT 9 > 65 Ti
Hardness – GT 9 > 65 Ti
Capacity – GT 9 > 65 Ti
Audio – GT 9 > 65 Ti (the crazy metallic sound of the GT 9 that you’ll love)
Durability – 65 Ti > GT 9
Tension retention – 65 Ti > GT 9 (the GT 9 soon lost its flavor – 2.5 weeks or so).
If you tend to change your strings every 20-30 hours of playing, you’ll simply love G Tone 9.
If you tend to change your strands every 2 months, the 65 Ti is way better in feel and in the long run.
Not sure why my G9 tone feels so good for the first few sessions like 10 hours or so compared to my all-time favorite BG 80.
This season, I will stick to BG 80 for being the best multi-level player for my style of play.
