The big news has come in for the Atlanta Braves as star player Ronald Acuña Jr. is scratched from the lineup Wednesday due to a back injury.
This is definitely something to keep an eye on to get ahead of Atlanta Braves fans. Each time Ronald Acuña Jr. is at the plate, people think he’s about to leave the ballpark. People got ready for it to potentially happen on Wednesday, but that will not be the case.
This is because the slug has been scratched before the first pitch due to tightness in the back. Back injuries are definitely the ones that can get stuck, so Brian Snitker certainly hopes that rest can pay off for his superstar player.
Atlanta Braves superstar Ronald Acuña Jr. will miss Wednesday’s match due to a back injury
The early indication is that this is not a serious injury Acuna, but again you will always be worried about back problems with a player – especially when it’s of Acuña’s caliber. He is without a doubt one of the most exciting players in the National League. Heck, he’s one of the most entertaining players in the game, period.
This year, Acuña hits .285 with an impressive 20 homers and 45 RBI. In addition to his incredible power at the dish, the playmaker is also unreal from his right field spot as he has a cannon for one arm. Seriously, base runners would be foolish to try to run at him.
For now, Snitker will be without such a threat in the middle of the lineup. The hope, though, is that this is one thing in one game, and Acuña will not miss a longer period. A day off will hopefully be more than enough for his back to heal so he can get back on the field and by the dish.
