Jordan Henderson’s qualities as captain are well known to Liverpool fans at this stage and have certainly become more apparent to the nation at large following his efforts, for example to help coordinate the NHS’s fundraising efforts.
While it was reduced to some role at the European Championships, however, the former Sunderland star has shown his leadership again with his encouragement on the sidelines in the build-up to England’s second.
A clip of the player urging his team-mates ahead of Harry Kane’s action against Joachim Low’s men has appeared on Twittersphere, where the 31-year-old runs towards the pitch after the Tottenham goal before returning to embrace Gareth Southgate.
As Henderson is eager to put an arm around the national team’s younger talents where needed, the midfielder continues to demonstrate why he is such an important part of the dressing room both in Liverpool and on the international stage.
