It is an honor and a responsibility to be India’s Vice Captain, confirms Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Indian speedster Bhuvneshwar Kumar has expressed his gratitude for being named India’s vice captain for the white ball tour in Sri Lanka and looks forward to helping the youngsters refurbish their skills. Bhuvneshwar also said he feels lucky to work with Rahul Dravid as the team’s coach.

India are ready to play Sri Lanka in their bilateral series of limited fixtures when the tour starts on July 13 in Colombo, where One-Day International is played first.

The inexperienced Indian group is being coached by the legendary batsman and NCA director of cricket operations Rahul Dravid, who has personally worked with few of the young people over the past few years. Bhuvneshwar Kumar feels fortunate to work with Dravid and cites his personal experience with ‘The Wall’ at the NCA.

“I’m lucky he (Dravid) is the coach. The young players have played under him for India A. So we will work under him and choose his brain and will understand how he manages things at that level for such a long time , “said Bhuvneshwar.

“I played against him (Rahul Dravid) and he was part of the RCB team (Royal Challengers Bangalore) right when I was admitted to the team. So I do not have such memories with him, but when I got to the NCA (National Cricket Academy) we had some chats, ”he added.
