That Detroit Lions knows the importance of the cornerback position. Last year, they invested in the third overall election Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah and they spent a third round at Ifeatu Melifonwu this year. While we will have to wait and see if one (or both) of these choices work in Detroit’s favor, the use of high pull choices on cornerbacks has proven to be a solid strategy.
This week on PODcast, we count the NFL’s top 10 cornerbacks down in the league today. Seven of the top 10 were selected in the first round of the draft, two were selected in the second round, and only one was announced. No lions came on the list this year, but the team certainly hopes that a guy like Okudah has a chance to appear in the future on the list sometime soon.
Before presenting our list of the top 10 cornerbacks, we talked about Lions’ worldwide presence and the NFL’s decision to present Dallas Cowboys on “Hard courses. “If the lions had volunteered, who would have been the stars?
