Thursday promises to be fun, as the July Festival Newmarket kicks off. There are four modular races, including Group 3 July And the Princess of Wales classes, both live on ITV3. we will own ITV Racing Tips For all five Thursday races, but I hope to count on the 18-1 winner as of Tuesday.
Treasury has given me a great start to the week with exorbitant odds and there are plenty of opportunities on Thursday to build on that. I found two horses that I think can outlast their odds and they can be found below!
This is a very competitive renewal of the July bets and I am amazed to see it Sam Maximus (33-1) Exorbitant price. Trained by Tom Dascombe, he made his debut at Haydock in June, defeating an advantageous field despite making plenty of mistakes.
He received a Puntfract penalty at Spindrifter last time, never having the chance to show his true ability. He was caught in a jeep all the way and didn’t find a gap until the race was over. This effort was much more encouraging than the bare numbers would indicate, as the winner was looking for a beneficial opportunity.
Improvement is definitely needed now, as he advances to Group 2 company, but it should be soon. He should be given a solid pace to chase and given his connections, he’ll likely continue to progress with every visit to the racetrack. By a factor of 33-1, it appears to have been severely underestimated.
Winning three of his four opening starts, I don’t think it’s fair to give up Seven Brothers (50-1) just yet. Kevin Ryan’s charge won his first two matches when he was an event, with his two-year-old’s only defeat coming in the second set at York.
He debuted seasonally/handicapped in York in April, and rocked things out to defeat the Popmaster, but failed at two back-to-back events at Newmarket and York. Those kicks were a disappointment, but he missed breaks on both occasions and lost all chances as a result.
A lot of his chance depends on the start and he should break better today to play a leading chance. There can be a lot of hope that he does just that. Installing the blinkers should help focus him as he’s drawn into the stall. From just a pound above his York mark, he could easily play a leading role in the 1950s.
