Houston Rockets general manager Raphael Stone announced today that Chris Wallace and Matt Pollard have joined the team’s basketball operations division.
“We are always looking for ways to grow as an organization and both Chris Wallace and Matt Pollard have a wealth of knowledge and experience that will aid in our decision-making processes,” Stone said. “Chris has decades of experience exploring and evaluating players while Matt’s insights as a former player and as a broadcaster bring another unique voice to our internal discussions.”
Wallace recently completed his 14th season with the Memphis Grizzlies, having served as general manager before moving on to senior players advisor. He helped build a Grizzlies team that made seven consecutive games from 2011-2017, including a trip to the Western Conference Finals in 2013. Prior to joining Memphis, Wallace spent 10 seasons as the Boston Celtics general manager from 1997-2007.
Pollard played nine of his 11 seasons as the Rockets and was a member of Houston’s first championship team in 1993-94. He has spent the past 16 seasons broadcasting on Rockets Television as a color analyst and commentator. In addition to his duties in basketball operations, Pollard will also participate in the organization’s community and grassroots basketball initiatives.
The Rockets also recently added Matthew Barlow and Jake Flancer as analysts and Ross Homan and Javier Pesquera as scouts.
