MM 7.9: Maryland volleyball adds Paula Neciporuka alumni transfer

The program announced that Maryland volleyball has brought a new player to its roster with alumni Paula Nesiburuka joining the team Thursday.

Neciporuka is a 5-foot-9 outdoor hitter who formerly went to Virginia Commonwealth University, recording 573 drills, 560 kills and 87 blocks in 304 combos over her four years there. This summer, she was competing in the CEV European Volleyball Super League and seeing a time to play Latvia’s first national team.

“This season we have sought to add depth and experience to our very small roster. Paula is someone who helps us in both areas,” Adam Hughes, head coach, Adam Hughes, said in a press release. with Latvia at the international level. In her career, she led the Latvian Indoor teams U17, U19 and U20 while also leading her team to the 2015 Latvian Championship.

Neciporuka is officially Maryland’s third off-season transfer for volleyball after Notre Dame’s Hannah Thompson and Alabama’s Kylie Thomas joined the team earlier this summer.
