Kylian Mbappe is again the cover star for the popular series, which is set to be taken to new levels in its latest edition

EA Sports has given fans a sneak peak at FIFA 2022, the latest version of the popular video game franchise.

It has billed the game as “football’s most realistic and immersive gaming experience” and notes that it will be available to play on next-generation consoles and Stadia when it is released on October 1st.

HyperMotion technology is set to further enhance the game, making the game more realistic, fluid and responsive than ever before. In short, it will be the closest experience to real football yet to be found on a console.

This HyperMotion technology is achieved through the motion capture of 22 high-intensity professional players. EA Sports boasts that its learning algorithm has taken more than 8.7 million images with advanced motion capture and has written real-time animation to create the most realistic motion in video game history.

“FIFA 22 gives millions of fans around the world a chance to engage in the sport they love in an unprecedented way,” said Nick Wlodyka, GM, EA SPORTS FIFA. “Every player experiences FIFA in their own way, but the gameplay on site is the coherent constant, so we are happy to offer deep innovation there. HyperMotion raises it further on the next generation consoles and Stadia and completely changes the feel of the game ”.

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe has expressed his delight at joining Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as a back-to-back cover star for the franchise.

“Being on back-to-back FIFA covers is great,” he said. “I have a very special relationship with the game and look forward to enjoying FIFA 22 with you all.”

As always, FIFA 22 will be thoroughly comprehensive in its prospects with top football. It features 17,000 players across 700 teams and more than 90 stadiums. In addition, it boasts the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League as well as other top competitions such as the Premier League and Bundesliga.

It will be available from October 1, though EA Play members have early trial access and monthly in-game rewards.
