There are three things to pay attention to when opening the Gantt ladies السيدات

After another exciting week, the 2021 LET Women’s European Tour season begins and the Tour’s next stop will be Finland.

Aura Golf hosts the Gant Ladies Open, the eighth event on the 2021 calendar. Here are three things to look out for…

Home favorites are ready to shine

A whole host of Finnish names will be in attendance this week as LET returns to Finland including Sanna Nuutinen, who finished second in the 2021 race to the Costa del Sol and in the Solheim Cup standings. The 30-year-old has had a fantastic season so far, finishing second at the Big Green Egg Open, as well as finishing third at the Jabra Ladies Open and at the Aramco Series – London Team event last week.

Other Finnish stars in the field are Ursula Wikström, who finished T2 at the 2021 Italian Women’s Open, and LETAS winner Tia Koivisto last season. Karina Kokkonen finished T6 at the ATS-Team London event, as will be taking place this week as well as Nora Komulainen, who gave birth to her daughter in May.

Skarpnord again in the winner’s circle

Marianne Scarbnord had an excellent week in the Aramco Team London Series when her team finished second in the team event, winning the individual competition. The Norwegian produced rounds of 73-65-68 to end a tie at the top of the leaderboard on 13 under tie with Atthaya Thitikul. The duo is back down 18The tenth In the second game out of the hole, Skarpnord rolled a Birdie Putt to clinch her fifth LET title.

Behind that height and winning her first LET title in two years, Skarpnord is heading to a place where she previously enjoyed success. In 2007, the Norwegian won the Felix Finnish Women’s Open at Ora Golf Course by defeating Wendy Berger in a playoff match. With confidence boosted, Skarpnord hopes to put in another good performance.

The race to Costa del Sol leader Thitikul raises the bar

Thai Atthaya Thitikul won her third LET title a few weeks ago at the 2021 Tipsport Czech Ladies Open, and came close to adding another win last week in London. The 18-year-old had a great start to her 2021 season with T6 at the Jabra Ladies Open and fourth place at the Big Green Egg, as well as winning and taking second place.

With her persistence, Thitikul has catapulted to the top of the 2021 race into the Costa del Sol rankings. The teenage star has 1,124.17 points, a lead of 159.75 points over Finnish Nottenen. With a purple patch out of shape, Thitikul will be looking to continue her latest results streak at Aura Golf this week.
