Rookie Joseph Swale’s season ended after a foot injury, Sydney Roosters

Update: Teen Feeling NRL Joseph Saali He is officially ruled out for the remainder of the 2021 season after young Roosters injured a foot.

The Sydney Roosters confirmed today that the medical staff had been evaluated after their Round 17 victory over the Bulldogs, when the injury was diagnosed.

“Joseph Swale sustained a foot injury with a Swiss franc. The survey concluded that he needed to be surgically stabilized,” the Roosters family said in a statement.

“Sualii underwent surgery and rehabilitation is expected to take approximately five months.”

Suaalii has now been added to the 2021 Roosters Victims Wing which already includes Lindsay Collins and Luke Keary following the concussion-related retirement of skipper Boyd Cordner and veteran Jake Friend.

The 17-year-old who is currently studying for an HSC underwent surgery on his injured foot and as a result was banned from traveling with the Roosters to their Sunshine Coast base in Queensland.

Sydney’s NRL teams – as well as Newcastle and Canberra – have been forced to relocate north in an effort to keep the 2021 competition running uninterrupted amid the COVID-19 outbreak in NSW.
