Dow and GEO will provide expertise to help develop the LPGA and LET strategy, as well as support and solutions to ensure effective and impactful delivery. GEO brings a wealth of experience to the table, working collaboratively with golf governing bodies, associations, athletes and the media for the past 15 years. More broadly, GEO has been very active in the mainstream movement for sustainability, consulting with government agencies, NGOs, business and supply chain platforms to bring the latest knowledge and ideas for sustainability solutions to golf associations, championships, venues and athletes.
The expanded collaboration is an evolution of the success of the 2019 opening of the Great Lakes Bay Invitational (Dow GLBI), which became the first LPGA Championship to earn GEO accreditation®.
The first year of Dow will be dedicated as an official sustainability resource to establish a baseline for long-term success, as well as explore immediate opportunities for new actions in the areas of inclusion, diversity and environmental stewardship. The program will expand to include the development of initiatives that promote sustainability and events focused on the education and empowerment of young female golfers.
“Golf can play a highly valued role in both advocating and advocating important social and environmental issues”, said LET CEO Alexandra Armas. “Together with partners like Dow and the GEO Foundation, we are able to advance our leadership, support others and then celebrate powerful stories across our community. We are inspiring to take action on some of the most important issues of our time – enhancing nature; conserving resources; taking climate action; and strengthening communities by professional women’s golf.”
LET and Dow are also collaborating on Celebrating Green, an initiative led by LET to celebrate and inspire change around environmental, climate and community conservation across women’s golf.
Dow has been working alongside the LPGA since 2018 as the association’s official marketing partner.
