If you’ve seen Space Jam 2: A New Legacy, you’ve undoubtedly noticed the plethora of sneakers worn in movies. Just like its predecessor had Jumpman sneakers, this LeBron James-produced movie had Nikes everywhere. The king even fell into Tune World and imprinted a swoosh in the ground. This makes sense since James has a lifetime contract with Nike, which means even his family on screen wore nothing but swooshes.
There are quick glances at Klay Thompson and Damian LIllard’s ANTA / adidas sneakers, but we could not identify them due to the amount of CGI on their Wet-Fire and Chronos Goon Squad figures. More than likely, they have their signature ANTA KT 6 and adidas Dame 6 shoes at the time they filmed their scenes.
That said, here are the remarkable sneakers rocket in Space Jam 2 (spoilers up front.)
Nike LeBron 19
The most prominent sneaker in the film was at the feet of James himself. LeBron and Nike coordinated the unveiling of the King’s 19th signature shoe just weeks before the release of Space Jam 2. The orange and blue colors were most often worn in the film, as the colors matched the bright Tune Squad jerseys in the crucial basketball game.
Even the cartoon version of James was rocking LeBron 19 in a completely red color.
James can even be seen writing the names of his fictional children on the blue “Space Jam” LeBron 19 as a cartoon:
Nike Air Max Uptempo 95
At the beginning of the film, 1998 kid LeBron James is seen rocking the “Blue Fury” colorway for Air Max Uptempo 95. This sneaker was originally worn by big and small players, namely Earl Boykins and Scottie Pippen.
Blue Fury colorway shown in the movie released in 2019, but the style is in the era that LeBron grew up in. You can find this colorway on Air Max Uptempo 95 at StockX.
Nike Air Tech Challenge 2
Seconds later, LeBron’s friend Malik walks by to let him play with the original Nintendo Game Boy. Malik joins Nike Air Tech Challenge 2, a sneaker worn by tennis star Andre Agassi in 1989. Several retros have been released in this “Hot Lava” color, and you can find them all at GOAT.
Nike Air Zoom Generation
LeBron’s real children get new names, with his eldest son switching from Bronny to Darius, played by Ceyair J. Wright. His first introduction to the film makes Darius rock LeBron’s first signature sneaker in Air Zoom Generation. This style was released in 2003, with this black “King’s Rook” color in retrospect in 2017. You can find this colorway at GOAT.
Nike Air Max 2 Light + Nike Epic React Flyknit 2
LeBron’s younger son Bryce is replaced in this film by Dominic, played by Cedric Joe. His introduction saw him wear the multicolor Atmos x Nike Air Max 2 Light sneaker that you can find GOAT.
LeBron himself rocks a simple pair of Nike Epic React Flyknit 2 in a black and white color in Oreo. This can be found at Stadium goods.
Nike Air Force 1 (Low + High)
Dom and LeBron appear on WB Lot next and are sucked into Serververse, where both rock Nike Air Force 1. King James rocks the classic all-white colorway that you can find on Nike store.
Dom has AF1 LV8 in black, optigul and orange peel. This colorway can be found at StockX.
Al-G Rhythm even rocks the sneaker when he bulges up, wearing Air Force 1 High in purple and white (found on StockX.)
LeBron’s right hand Malik in the film is also wearing blue and white AF1s (seen below), which are not currently available.
Nike Blazer Mid
Along with the rest of the James band, Darius swings white and yellow Nike Blazer Mids, which you can find on StockX.
Nike Air Flightposite
As Dom increases his basketball skills by encouraging Al-G Rhythm, he upgrades his sneakers from AF1 to Nike Air Flightposite. This futuristic style fell in 1999 and was especially worn by Jason Kidd and Allan Houston. This shoe is not new on the silver screen, as it was carried by the Green Goblin in the original 2002 Spider-Man movie.
You can find gold and black Flightposite on StockX.
Nike LeBron 16
Diana Taurasi appears briefly as herself as well as White Mamba on Goon Squad. The latter had a tail, so no sneakers were used. Taurasi also showed up when Dom needed to scan thugs for her game, where she was seen rocking a gray Nike LeBron 16.
The specific colorway is not available, but you can find others on GOAT.
Nike Kobe AD + Nike Kobe 9 Elite
Anthony Davis is seen in Dom motion capture seen wearing a Nike Kobe AD PE in black, yellow and orange. You can find other colors on GOAT.
Later, Davis appears as his Goon Squad alter ego “The Brow”, with the eagle man rocking the Nike Kobe 9 Elite in the blue and green “Perspective” colorway. This can be found at GOAT.
adidas N3XT L3V3L + adidas Marquee Boost Low
Everything has been Nike until now, but some adidas slipped through editing in brief moments. Nneka Ogwumike is seen wearing the adidas N3XT L3V3L during the Dom scan. You can find this shoe on StockX.
Her Goon Squad alter ego Arachnneka is available wearing the adidas Marquee Boost Low, which can be purchased at StockX.
Nike Dunk Low
At the end of the film, Dom gets his wish with LeBron, who allows him to go to Game Design Camp. The young James walks off in the Nike Dunk Low in green and yellow. This Doernbecher charity shoe can be found at GOAT.
Nike Air Fear of God 1
The craziest moment in Space Jam 2 was when “Michael Jordan” showed up to help Tune Squad. Of course, that was THE Michael Jordan and any sneakerhead could tell when this man went in with Nike Fear of God 1s instead of a Jumpman shoe.
You can find Michael B. Jordan’s black and white Nike FOG 1 at StockX.
Air Jordan 1 x Travis Scott
After the credits have rolled, you can see members of the Tune Squad in the real world interact with athletes and celebrities. After Porky Pig dropped rods earlier in the film, you can see him on stage with Travis Scott, whose rocking his brown Air Jordan 1 collab. You will find this Mocha sneaker at GOAT.
